Summer Hockey

Southern United HC welcomes members to consider forming or joining a team in the traditional off season.

Hockey Victoria has offered competitions for veterans, mixed, women and men as well as limited junior competitions. Whilst the club encourages participation members are advised that it is considered to be a self organising program. Members are required to advise their sectional President of their interest in playing. Teams will also need to arrange a team manager and coach if desired. The dictum Haud Tributum Haud Particeps applies and players can expect to pay $100-$130 for seniors and $80-$100 for juniors

 

Junior Indoor Teams

These competitions are conducted at Skateworld on Boundary Rd Mordialloc. Mixed and girls only under 13, 15 and 17 comps. The younger age groups are played on Saturday mornings whilst older age groups are played on mid week evenings.

Openage Mixed Competitions

This competition is conducted on a Monday evening at venues such as MBN, Mentone or Monash. This is an ideal comp for parents to try hockey.

Veterans Competitions

As in past years players are required to register their interest in participating. Mens vets are played on a Monday night whilst womens vets play on a Wednesday night.

Mens Competitions

High grade competitions are normally offered at the SNHC whilst lower graded competitions are conducted at Monash and Mentone.

Junior Outdoor

These are limited to under 15 and under 17 and in previous years have been held at either Monash or the State Hockey centre on a Thursday evening.

Timelines

Teams will need to be submitted to HV in early October with competitions commencing in November.
