Men’s Section Coaching 2012

The Men’s Section is currently reviewing all coaching positions for 2012. We intend to advertise and appoint a Senior Club coach, Assistant coach and Development coach. Brief position descriptions of these roles are given below. Further details will be provided shortly. Expressions of interest in any of the positions should be directed towards the Club Secretary (secretary@suhc.com.au)

Senior Club Coach: Will take responsibility for the overall direction and development of hockey in the Men’s section. Primary Match Day responsibility will be to oversee the State League team

Assistant Coach: Will work closely with the Senior Club Coach to implement the overall hockey strategy within the senior playing group. Match Day responsibilities will be to oversee the 2nd team and to assist with the management of the State League team when required.

Development Coach: Will be expected to work with the Senior Club and Assistant coaches to develop the up and coming talent within the Club. The Development Coach will be expected to manage the 3rd team on match days.

Umpire Roster

Due to a shortage of available Hockey Victoria umpires, the Men’s section is required to provide umpires, with all Senior Men required to umpire between 1 and 3 games for the season, depending on their level of experience and other commitments to coaching, committee etc. The umpire co-ordinator will inform you of your obligation.

Last year, we had a very dissappointing response to volunteer umpiring and as a result, we have had to take a tough stance this season to ensure that all games have sufficient officials.

If you do not attend your rostered umpiring appointment, you will

1. Be required to reimburse the umpire cost for the game and

2. Will be suspended by the Club for your next available game
